eternal-band-myspace

Dun know the Eternal!

This band were mahooosive back in 90’s! I was a fan….I had a couple of their albums on pirate cassette tape.

They used to look like this at the beginning…

(why are all there eyes closed??!)

But then Louise left to pursue a solo career and have kids with Jamie Redknapp. I fancied Louise ridiculously when I was at school, these photo’s helped….

RANDOM BANDS FROM THE 90′S – LOVE CITY GROOVE

love-city-groove

I haven’t done a random bands from the 90’s post in ages! So I really had to take it there this time!

LOVE CITY GROOVE – Dun Know

Legends! For those who don’t have a clue who this trio are, they were the UK’s representatives in the 1995 Eurovision song contest. I was about 10 when it came out and thought it was one of the coolest songs out. I also liked Spice Girls though so that doesn’t really say alot (see, I wasn’t always cool, I’m still not actually).

I believe ( I say believe, Wikipedia told me) they finished 10 in the contest but had a top 10 with the song in the UK. I bought it…so did 200,000 other people…

Let’s re-live that classic moment of their performance…

RANDOM BANDS FROM THE 90′S – E.Y.C

eyc

Firstly, let me get this out the way; HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Ok, now that’s taken care of, let’s get back to business. The 3rd installment of ‘Random Bands from the 90’s is a mildly (and I use that term very loosely) successful American RnB/Pop Band from the early/mid 90’s.

E.Y.C stood for ‘Express Yourself Clearly’ ..Cool huh? (big up my best friend Jessie from primary school for telling me what it stood for, she thought they were the Messiah’s of Music).  They came to our ears with their debut single ‘Feelin’ Alright’. But it was only when they released there mammoth sized, huge …errr No.14 charting single ‘The Way You Work It’ that we really realised they were gonna be around for at least 2 unsuccessful albums. Check them out below with the now classic performance of the song on Top of The Pops.

THE WAY YOU WORK IT

I like the bit where they say ‘Breakdown’ and then do a dance.

A few songs and a couple highly unsuccessful  albums after, unfortunately for my best friend Jessie and the 334 other fans around the world, the group broke up….shame.

RANDOM BANDS FROM THE 90′S – ACE OF BASE

ace_of_base__

Your Damn right I took it there!!!

For the 2nd installment of ‘Random Bands From The 90’s’, I’ve gone for the Swedish pop kings

ACE OF BASE

The 4 piece band that took over the charts in the early 90’s , could most definitely claim DJ B as a fan. So much so, that when I was 7, I saved my pocket money and bought their debut album on pirate cassette from Gillingham Market. Ballin’..

If there’s any haters out there that ain’t feeling The ‘Base’ (that’s slang we use in Ace of Base chatrooms), let it be known that their debut album sold 23 million copies worldwide. 23 MILLION!!!!! Are you dumb! That’s top boy numbers, come back when you’ve sold 23 million albums..

Ace of Base – we salute you

‘ALL THAT SHE WANT’S’

‘THE SIGN’

RANDOM BANDS FROM THE 90′S – THE OUTHERE BROTHERS

So on the blog I have a number of features; flashback baby, DJ B recommends and now….

random bands from the 90’s!!!!

Being an 80’s baby (There’s plenty of DJ’s who aren’t, stop pretending. We don’t believe you, you need more people!), the 90’s was the era I got in to music in a real big way, and looking back, there were sooooooo many bands that came and went. So let’s salute the terrible bands that had us 80’s babies bopping around at local youth centres/under 18’s nightclubs/behind the chinese take away.

The first one is the one and only –

the-outhere-brothers

OUTHERE BROTHERS!!!

I thought this band were the nuts in junior school! They said dirty words on songs and I thought they were cool. I knew all the words to the rap bits and thought it made me special.

I remember there was a big drama around their album  or its title or something ‘1 polish, 2 biscuits, and a fish sandwich’ It was too dirty or something, I can’t remember but I know they had to re-release it as ‘the party album’. Anyways, what a legend of a group!!!! lol. classic 90’s rubbish.

I just looked at their wikipedia. They had a song called ‘Fuck U In The Ass’.  Nice.

BOOM BOOM BOOM
